Sensitivity Reading

So, you finished you’re work but you’re worried about misrepresentation. You want to be inclusive and diverse, but don’t want to cause harm with your impact. My sensitivity services may be able to help.

As your Sensitivity Reader, I will:

• Identify problematic areas

• Provide empathetic but honest feedback

• Identify tropes, stereotypes, and clichés

• Check that your marginalized characters and their experiences are fully explored and multi-dimensional.

• Provide a 2-3 page report of all my findings

Areas I Sensitivity Read for based on lived experience and expertise:

• Asian and Multiracial (Filipina/Native Hawaiian/white) identity

• Interracial dating/marriage

• Autism

• Asexuality

• Depression/Anxiety

• Chronic illness

• Partner to person with chronic illness

• Partner to a person with Neurodivergence (specifically ADHD)

• Partner to a person who has been suddenly disabled (accident)

Sensitivity Reading Rates

My base rates for sensitivity reading are below.

50,000 or less: $ .005 per word

50,000-100,000: $ .004 per word

100,000-150,000: $ .003 per word

If you’d like comments left within the manuscript itself, add .001 per word to the rates above.
